Is Noble now dialed in like the Tevez year?
What a performance. Hardest worker on the pitch and played 4-5 balls of Payet's quality.

Like I said if he carries his form from today through the rest of the year like he did spring 07 him and Tevez dragging us up alone and keeping us in the top flight will be a fabulous finish to the season and we might catch Leicester and Man C for the title.

Hes sort of the only one who can provide adequate leadership at the moment with the arm band really hope we get 5-6 more matches like tonight from him excellent.

I'm not one of the many who make out Noble can do no wrong and I'm not one of the few who think Nobke can do no right.

One thing is very clear, Noble had a great game last night. In the main is having a very good season and is looking like a fantastic captain!

Started the season poorly along with his other midfielders, so hopefully hitting form at the right time.

Needs more consistency though, as even he was awful in the first half last night.

Robbie Savage kept bitching that he should have got two yellows in the first half.

He was right as well P, but about time we had the rub of the green.

As an armchair fan last night, I can confirm that the officials were bloody awful other than with the elbow which was spot on :o)

Re: Is Noble now dialed in like the Tevez year?
What I like in Noble recently is that it's very palpable how desperate he is to do well and for the team to do well, wants to win badly. Compare that to the other dick who spent most of the game scratching his balls, joking around with the ref and oppo, arguing with the ref, shouting and finger pointing and standing under goalkeepers. Thank fuck he has finally gone.

He also reckoned he should play for England Steve.

Not really any middle ground with Lily

He was easily the MOTM and was excellent last night.
I have not been his biggest fan under Allardyce but with Bilic when the team plays well Noble does not look out of place and is usually amongst the top 5 players on the pitch.

Re: Is Noble now dialed in like the Tevez year?
He's been poor a lot of the season so if he is coming into form or changing his game to better suit the teams shape then that is excellent news.

Playing alongside Kouyate and Song gives us a way too defensive line up. Mark needs to look to play forward more even if we give up possession sometimes and we need to accept that will happen as it does with every other player including the likes of Payet.
He's been guilty of slowing down our game and not using the passing ability he has to get the ball forward or wide quickly enough. When he does this we look a better team and him a better player.
Playing a defensive role under the previous manager has meant that his mentality is one of not giving up possession and simple passes and while there is a place for that, he has more to him than that.
Delighted that there is some positive press around him.

He was fantastic last night, especially second half.

Song was appalling though.

Was good last night

Maybe hes realised he needed to up his game to stay in the side now.

Re: Is Noble now dialed in like the Tevez year?
Was Song really appalling? Or is that a bit of latent racism clouding your honky specs?

I only ask because others have said he was excellent last night.

Re: Is Noble now dialed in like the Tevez year?
Song was neither excellent or appalling.

Average.

Re: Is Noble now dialed in like the Tevez year?
He was terrible. Gave the ball away countless times and his passing was so slow.

Noble improved second half, Song didn't.

Northern Sold 10:55 Wed Feb 3
Re: Is Noble now dialed in like the Tevez year?
I thought Song was dreadful in the 1st half... pointless playing him on Reids and Ginge's toes... you telling me they can not pick the ball up and move it 5 yards after 3 or 4 touches?? He was much better 2nd... but still has to always have an extra touch that slows us down... Average was about right...

Nobes was poor/average 1st half and a monster in the 2nd

Noble was showing Payet how it is done in the second half.

Song made the most passes of any player last night out of every Premier League games played (113 passes), with 90% completion.
